REALTORS®
Ready to take the next step in your real estate career? It’s easy! Just follow these steps to begin the membership process:
- Before you can be a REALTOR® , you need to become a licensed Pennsylvania real estate agent. Check out the GHRI page for more information on getting started.
- Once you’ve obtained your license and you’re ready to become a GHAR Member, review all of the information below.
- Complete the Membership Application.
- Register to attend New Member Orientation.

REALTOR® Membership Application
Complete this application if you are:
- applying as a new or recent licensee or otherwise never held REALTOR® membership;
- transferring membership from another REALTOR® association; OR
- re-applying for membership with GHAR
Designated REALTOR® Membership Application
Complete this application if you are the broker of record, associate broker, proprietor or principal for a real estate company and will be the responsible member for your company AND if you are:
- applying as a new or recent licensee or otherwise never held REALTOR® membership;
- becoming Designated REALTOR® for your company and already maintain a REALTOR® membership with GHAR;
- transferring membership from another REALTOR® association; OR
- re-applying for membership with GHAR
Secondary REALTOR® Membership Application
Secondary members hold primary membership with another local Association of REALTORS®. If your primary membership isn’t with an Association within Pennsylvania, you have the option to join PAR.
Complete this application if you are:
- applying as a Secondary REALTOR® who actively holds primary membership with another REALTOR® association.
New Member Orientation
New members are required to attend our new member orientation program: Strategies for Success. You must complete the New Member Orientation course within 60 days or within two offerings from the date of your membership application.
During Strategies for Success, you will learn:
- What it means to be a REALTOR®
- Your obligation to abide by the Code of Ethics
- More about the GHAR member benefits and services
- Our recommended guidelines for co-brokerage, open houses, and signage
- Why membership means professional value
- Overview of Bright MLS

Change of Status
Complete this application if you are:
- providing a notice of terminating your license; OR
- providing GHAR with a notice of a new licensee/transfer to a new office
Complete the forms online and email the completed form to chris@ghar.realtor.
